Strippers Suing City of Reno for Millions

The strippers put out of work by Reno’s ban on those under 21 at local strip clubs are suing the city. The eight dancers, all over 18 but under 21 say the ban will cost them each $50,000 to $100,000 in lost earnings. The suit argues the city violated the law when it passed the ordinance without considering a business impact statement prepared by city staff, particularly to the strippers who are independent contractors who have their own business licenses. The suit is asking for 15 million dollars.
