The non-profit Veterans Hospital Foundation was established in 1991. Social services at area health facilities may refer a qualified Vet or family members to the Veterans Guest House. A contribution of $25 per night per guest is requested to help defray costs, but no one is refused due to a lack of funds. The Veterans Guest House is not government funded and relies solely on public contributions.
