TAHOE PRESCRIBED BURNS BEGIN — California State Parks officials have begun prescribed fire operations on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe near Tahoe City. Operations began at Burton Creek State Park Thursday 10/15, and will continue over the next several weeks as conditions allow. Smoke from prescribed fire operations is normal and may continue for several days after an ignition depending on the project size and environmental conditions. The Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team will give as much advance notice as possible before burning, but some operations may be conducted on short notice.
