Five fires sparked by lightning about 30 miles north of Reno are in varying stages of development and containment: some structures have been lost and Sutcliffe has been evacuated. As of 12pm Sunday, the BLM reports 10% containment of 4 fires about 20 miles from each other that have burned 38K acres in the Virginia Mountain Complex (#VirginiaMtnFire on Twitter).

The Tule Fire near Pyramid Lake jumped from just over 7000 acres Saturday afternoon to more than 18,000 acres, which led to the mandatory evacuation of Sutcliffe by Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police Saturday afternoon. Anyone not involved with this evacuation is to stay away from Sutcliffe and Pyramid Lake. State Route 446 is closed between State Route 445 and State Route 447.

The Sage Fire and Anderson Fire have burned together near the Winnemucca Ranch Road. The southwest edge of the Sage Fire perimeter is holding, allowing fire resources to focus more on the Anderson Fire. The Anderson Fire is burning in very steep, rugged terrain, making suppression actions difficult for firefighters. Both helicopters and airtankers were used throughout Saturday on the Anderson and Tule Fires.

The Seven Lakes Fire currently poses minimal concerns.

The Rock Fire, which is not part of the Virginia Mountain Complex but is being managed by the same team, is no longer a concern.
