The search is on for whoever shot and wounded a volunteer Placer County Search and rescue team member near Nevada City last night. According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s office, someone fired shots toward a group of three Placer County Search & Rescue volunteer members hitting one in the hip. The wounded searcher’s condition has stabilized, and all of the team members have been taken out of the area. The shooter has not been located. The search team was in the area searching for a 71 year old man who has been missing for about a week.
