Reminder: Fireworks are Illegal in Nevada

They’re a Fourth of July tradition, but local firefighters and police want to urge you to not be tempted to light, or even possess your own fireworks.  If you’re caught with illegal fireworks, the kind that send things flying in the air, you can count on being cited and maybe arrested.  Even the so called “safe and Sane Fireworks are banned in most of Nevada because of fire dangers.  Officer Tim Broadway of the Reno Police says, besides the dangers, you can also be held responsible if someone’s property catches fire, not only for the damages, but also for the cost of putting it out.
