The Winnemucca Ranch Fire has grown to 2000 acres, it is near Winnemucca Ranch road off Pyramid Highway north of Spanish Springs and first reported around 7pm last night. Sierra Front is reporting several structures are threatened. Truckee Meadows Fire, BLM and Nevada Division of Forestry are working the blaze. Washoe County is asking residents and livestock affected by the fire to self-evacuate to the Equestrian Center at 5600 Whiskey Springs Road.
The Earthstone Fire in Sparks has burned 25,000 acres with 20% containment. Evacuation orders were ended for a handful of homes in the area, and Golden Eagle Park is closed to the public until further notice.
The Truckee Fire has burned an estimated 60,000 acres. Voluntary evacuations are in place for residents in the Duffy Road area, northeast of Fernley. Lyon County deputies are asking that if you live in this area to follow the instructions of Sheriff’s Deputies. The Truckee fire is now burning out of Washoe County and into Churchill County.
The Bureau of Land Management is fighting a fire in Limerick Canyon, about 15 miles northeast of Lovelock. Firefighters think the fire has burned about 11,000 acres so far. It’s moving north toward the Sacramento Canyon. BLM has dispatched air and ground resources to the scene, and urges residents to remain clear of the area as to not hinder wildland firefighting vehicles traveling to and from the fire.
Truckee Meadows fire crews are working a brush fire in the vicinity of Corral Drive in Sun Valley. It is near homes.
Fire crews in Fernley are cleaning up after a fire burned a shed and an open field late last night. The blaze began around 11 p.m. in the vicinity of River Ranch Road and U.S. 50. Officials believe this was caused by fireworks.
