Sparks Police arrest 15-year-old for attempted murder, firearm theft

Sparks Police are investigating a shooting involving a 15-year-old, which left the victim in critical condition.

At 5:13 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1200 block of Flora Glen Drive where people were fleeing the area from the sound of gunshots.

Police found the 15-year-old suspect a short distance away from the crime scene. He admitted to shooting a 49-year-old resident multiple times after they asked him to leave the area.

After shooting the victim, the suspect fled the area and discarded the gun.

Police say the suspect also admitted he stole the gun from a residence in Washoe County.

The suspect was transported to the Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center where he was booked for attempted Murder, and possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The victim, who’s name has not been released, was treated for multiple gunshot wounds facing life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
