A man who was held in jail on a mistaken warrant for 18 days, costing him a lucrative entertainment job, is suing in Reno federal court. Las Vegas entertainer Sean Laughlin was stopped for a Carson City traffic violation, and then arrested when a warrant check showed he was wanted for burglary in Pahrumph, and held on 675 thousand dollars bail. He was released 18 days later without ever appearing before a judge, with no explanation. He had never been to Pahrumph, and had no criminal record. A comedian and juggler, he missed a cruise to Australia while jailed, and was fired from a job. His attorney says all this almost ruined his life. The suit is against Lyon and Nye counties.
