A street-racing investigation late Saturday led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Reno driver. Luis Aflredo Lara-Rodrgiuez was booked into the Washoe County jail on several driving-related charges, including felony disobeying a police officer while endangering the public as well as running red lights, reckless driving and driving without a valid license. About 11:45 p.m. police went to the area of Greg Street and McCarran Boulevard in Sparks’ industrial area to investigate reports of street racing. Police say a vehicle driven by Rodriguez sped off at high speed. Police tried to pull him over but he continued at speeds of up to 60 mph and ran red lights, so police ended the chase. Police found the vehicle at 6200 Meadowood Mall Circle and arrested Rodriguez. Police are looking for other drivers involved in the street racing. If you have any information, you’re asked to contact police or secret witness, 322-4900.
