[KOH] – A Nevada Hwy Patrol sergeant was shot and killed in northeast Nevada early this morning while assisting a motorist.  The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. about 6 miles south of the intersection of US-93 & US-93 Alt.  The suspect took the trooper’s uniform and vehicle but abandoned it after getting stuck.  A SWAT team took the suspect into custody after a massive manhunt by multiple agencies.  The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office RAVEN helicopter had been dispatched to help in the search.
US-93 remains closed from McGill, north of Ely to Wells, and US-93A is closed from US-93 to West Wendover.
