Four Arrested After a Dog is Stolen From the County Animal Shelter

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people, after a dangerous dog was taken from the Washoe County Animal Shelter. The break-in happened February 2, 2022. When deputies arrived shortly after 9:30 a.m., they found several fences cut, and one kennel’s lock forcibly cut. A Pit Bull Terrier named Lola housed inside that kennel was gone. Lola was seized by Animal Services on Jan. 10th in the interest of public safety. Lola’s owner Rachel Irvin was arrested along with Timothy Hires, Christopher King, and Ryan Wood. Deputies found a gun, drug paraphernalia, and a controlled substance inside the home and arrested the three men. They’re still looking for the dog.
