[KOH] A new data center plans to open in Storey County next year.
Novva Data Centers cited proximity to major western cities, a qualified workforce, competitive property tax rates, and an overall business climate as their reasons for opening the new 20-acre center. The Utah company has a center in North Las Vegas, as well as Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs.
Novva says that the Storey County center will provide a low-latency connection to the San Francisco Bay Area with a 6-millisecond round trip for the data. Security for the center will include perimeter fencing with 24/7 monitoring, autonomous aerial drones, and facial-scanning robotic dogs.
