[KOH] The Washoe County School District cut the ribbon on the newest school in the district today. JWood Raw Elementary School on Green Pasture Drive in southeast Reno was named after a native Reno resident who worked for WCSD for 37 years, including 23 years as principal of Dilworth Middle School. The new campus features a two-story building with state-of-the-art learning facilities for students in Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade, with 28 classrooms, a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) lab, three collaborative learning hubs, and it’s energy efficient. J Wood was built with funds from WC-1 to help alleviate overcrowding in one of Reno’s fastest-growing areas.
