Northern Nevada police and sheriff’s deputies are kicking their street patrols into high gear in and around schools this week. Thanks to a Joining Forces grant, stepped up law enforcement will be in place mornings and afternoons in school zones.

That’s RPD’s Stephen Greenlee, who reminds you to teach your children the rules of the road if they walk or ride their bikes to campus. Get them to use the crosswalk, make eye contact with drivers before crossing, and have them stay off their cell phone.
