Washoe County DA says Sparks Police Shooting Was Justified

Two Sparks police officers will not face any charges after shooting a man from Carson City to death in 2020. Police were called on the man after he followed Motel Six employees around with a running chainsaw. Officers found him sitting in his car in the motel parking lot, where he refused to comply with their commands, then reversed into their police cruiser. Officers shot at the man as he tried to get away. He crashed into a wall and died after being shot multiple times. The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office says the shooting was justified.
