The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office says a man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexual assault and lewdness on a child. Prosecutors say the case against 40-year-old Brandon Smith began in 2021 when a 13-year-old confronted Smith about the abuse and told him she was going to tell her mother about it. They say he then admitted to the crimes through text messages.
