Grad Rate Down in Washoe County

The Washoe County School District has announced that graduation rates have dropped in 2023 compared to last year. 81.1 percent of the district’s student body, 4,080 students, received their diplomas this year, a decrease of 3.3 percent compared to the Class of 2022. The district blames the drop on the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on learning. A little over 50 percent of the class, 2,054 students, graduated with Honors, Advanced or College and Career Readiness diplomas.
