One Arrested After Standoff in Sun Valley

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, along with the Reno and Sparks Police Departments, arrested a suspect after a short standoff in Sun Valley last night. It started around 6:30 when detectives with the Regional Crime Suppression Unit attempted to arrest Nathan Sanford. Back in April, Sanford was wanted for a Domestic Violence case. During his arrest, Sanford was carrying a loaded gun, and 35 grams of meth. He was sentenced to 28 to 82 months in prison. The judge presiding over the case deemed it appropriate for Sanford to serve 150 days probation. Sanford never reported to Parole and Probation and a felony warrant was put out. Then, on December 28th, Sparks Police Department received a report of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Sanford was the suspect in that case. He now faces multiple charges.
