Five people were arrested after a string of incidents Sunday in Reno and Sparks. Around 2 p.m. a Sparks Police officer in Reno noticed a vehicle with a stolen license plate. The driver fled at a high rate of speed when the officer attempted to initiate a stop. The officer did not engage in the dangerous high speed chase and instead notified Reno officers. Two hours later, a vehicle that matched the description was involved in a report of a possible DUI at a gas station in Sparks. The vehicle left before police arrived. A short time after that, officers located the vehicle at Vista and Baring in Sparks. The vehicle again fled at a high rate of speed, going through numerous stop signs and red lights, later hitting a vehicle at Pyramid and Sparks Boulevard. At that point five people fled on foot from the vehicle. All were later arrested. The driver has been identified as 19-year-old Devin Lake.
