The South Lake Tahoe Police Department had to use tear gas Saturday afternoon to arrest a stabbing suspect. 43-year-old David Valenzuela of South Lake Tahoe was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. Police were called to Barton Memorial Hospital at about 11:15 a.m. after a man there reported being stabbed several times. The victim is in stable condition. Police identified Valenzuela as a suspect. When they went to his home, he refused to surrender…only coming out after tear gas was deployed.
