Hiker Group Found Safe After Disappearing Near Royal Fire

(South Lake Tahoe, CA) — The search is over for a group of hikers missing near another California wildfire. All 13 were found safe yesterday at the Tahoe National Forest. They apparently lost their way Sunday after flames sparked in Placer County, and camped along the trail that night. A helicopter crew spotted them two miles away from the fire, which is now up to 200 acres but still far from populated areas. Even so, officials are keeping evacuation warnings in place.
