(Reno, NV) — The Washoe County School District is scrambling to fill 250 vacant positions before the school year starts on August 12th. It is looking to hire teachers, special education staff, classroom aides and assistants, and therapists. There are also vacant nutrition services and support staff positions. A district spokesperson says the main priority in the next three-plus weeks is hiring teachers. If those positions remain unfilled, the WCSD will have to pull employees from other areas to ensure every classroom has a qualified teacher.
