(Verdi, NV) — The Quilici Fire has burned about 300 acres of land along I-80 near Verdi. Residents in the immediate area of the fire are under mandatory evacuation orders, with the Northwest Library serving as an evacuation center. Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue says progress is being made, but no containment figure has been released. Eastbound traffic on I-80 is being rerouted onto State Route 267. Westbound traffic is not affected. The fire started at about six o’clock Sunday evening. Authorities believe it was sparked by a car fire near the California-Nevada state line. NV Energy says up to about 28-thousand customers in Washoe County were without power on Sunday night, due to the fire.
