(Reno, NV) — The violent crime and property crime rates in Washoe County are again outpacing the rest of the nation. That’s according to recently released FBI national crime statistics from 2023. Last year, the U.S. averaged 364 violent crimes per capita. Washoe County averaged 499 violent crimes per capita. Washoe County’s violent crime rate has outpaced the national average since 2015. Last year’s national property crime rate was just above 19-hundred per capita. Washoe County averaged two-thousand-194 property crimes per capita. For property crimes, the county has outpaced the national average since 2020.
