(Reno, NV) — The University of Nevada says they will not play San Jose State this Saturday. In a statement, UNR says it’s because there are not enough players to compete. The game will be recorded as a loss for Nevada. Earlier, a majority of team members voted not to play San Jose, due to the fact there was a transgender member of that team. You may remember, UNR then said players who voted not to play would not be punished, but the match would go ahead as scheduled. Now, the school says the game will NOT take place.
The following is a statement from the University of Nevada:
Due to not having enough players to compete, the University of Nevada women’s volleyball team will not play its scheduled Mountain West Conference match at San José State on Saturday, Oct. 26. Per Mountain West Conference policy, the match will be recorded as a conference loss for Nevada.
