(Reno, NV) — A rally was held on Saturday in support of the University of Nevada, Reno women’s volleyball team. The Wolf Pack was supposed to play San Jose State on Saturday, but forfeited the match in protest of San Jose State having a biological man on its women’s team. UNR team captain Sia Liilii says the decision was made due to safety concerns. She also says she received thank you messages from players from other teams, who also forfeited their matches against San Jose State for the same reason. Liilii is calling on lawmakers to do a better job protecting women in sports.
