Nevadans Enshrine Abortion Rights in the State Constitution

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Nevada’s initiative to write abortion rights into the state constitution received significant support, with 63 percent voting in favor of Question 6. The measure would protect abortion access up to fetal viability, or later if necessary to protect the health or life of mother. Advocates emphasized the importance of securing reproductive rights at the state level, particularly amid changes to federal abortion laws. Opponents said that the state’s existing laws already provide adequate protection.
