Northern Nevada’s Seasonal Moisture Levels Still Down

(Reno, NV) — Northern Nevada’s seasonal moisture levels are still below where they should be. That’s what experts say, despite the first significant snowstorm of the year last weekend. The National Weather Service says the snow helps. But, the region is still behind the moisture levels seen at this time in previous years. The NWS says Reno should be seeing about two inches of snow per week at this time of year. The Central Sierra Snow Lab recently recorded 24 straight days without any measurable rain or snowfall. That is one of the longest dry stretches on record.
