(Sparks, NV) — A 28-year-old man is behind bars on suspicion of assaulting an elderly RTC bus driver in Sparks. Police say Ryan Mastelotto, a passenger, attacked the 78-year-old driver on Monday. The driver was injured and had to be hospitalized. Investigators reviewed video footage from the bus. It allegedly shows Mastelotto punching the driver, knocking him from his seat, and then kicking him while he lay on the floor. He then ran away, leaving the driver injured. RTC employees alerted police on Tuesday, after spotting Mastelotto near the RTC station in Reno.
