Gov. Lombardo Signs Law Allowing Nevada to Temporarily Drop Cage-Free Egg Rule

(Carson City, NV) — Nevada is now allowed to temporarily suspend its cage-free egg rule. On Thursday, Governor Joe Lombardo signed a law that allows other types of eggs to be sold. The bill was fast tracked by the state Assembly and Senate this week. It is aimed at reducing egg prices and increasing availability during a statewide and nationwide egg shortage, triggered by bird flu. Before the law was signed, only cage-free eggs were allowed to be sold in Nevada at all times.
