Father and Son Charged With Harboring Illegal Immigrants

(Reno, NV) — A father and son from Reno are facing charges on suspicion of harboring illegal immigrants. On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice announced charges against 43-year-old Carlos Recinos-Valdez and his son, 20-year-old Kevin Recinos-Ruano. They are accused of harboring undocumented immigrants for financial gain between July of 2021 and last week. The DOJ says Recinos-Valdez orchestrated the illegal smuggling of migrants through a network of human smugglers and traffickers in Guatemala, Mexico and the U.S. He is accused of housing the migrants in apartment complexes in the Reno area.
