[KOH] Last night’s men’s basketball game between the Wolfpack and Sac State was delayed for an unusual reason. Bats are common in baseball, but not so much in basketball. These bats were flying mammals, or Chiroptera that live in the Lawlor Events Center. They were circling around the arena for several minutes late in the second half, prompting the delay.
Several bats also invaded the arena back in 2017. After that incident, the Nevada Department of Wildlife estimated there could be up to 30 bats living in the building.
Maybe they can be the equivalent of the football team’s lucky Takeaway Trident or Touchdown Trident. Sac State was on a 12-two run before the bat delay. After play resumed, UNR went on a 17-6 run.
