A Backcountry Avalanche Watch is in place for the Lake Tahoe area. The watch went into effect at seven o’clock Sunday night and will last until at least seven o’clock tomorrow morning. But, dangerous conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday. Experts with the National Weather Service and Sierra Avalanche Center expect the latest powerful storm hitting the region to bring new rain, snow and strong winds that can trigger large avalanches in backcountry areas.
