Fire crews were called to battle a series of small brush fires yesterday afternoon east of Sparks. The fire closed the right lane of eastbound I-80 near Patrick. The fires were reported along the railroad tracks between Vista Boulevard and Mustang. Truckee Meadows Fire, Storey County Fire, and Sparks Fire were all part of the response as the fires burned in Washoe and Storey County. The cause of the fires is under investigation.
