The U.S. Postal Service is moving ahead with its plan to reroute Reno’s mail to Sacramento for processing, then send it back to Reno. The move is part of a 40-billion-dollar investment project and modernization plan. “Decision to proceed” was listed next to the Reno facility in a letter sent to Senators from Postmaster Louis DeJoy Monday. Reno’s main post office on Vassar Street will be converted from a processing and distribution center to a local processing center. The USPS says it is investing up to 13-point-four-million-dollars in Reno.
