U.S. District Court Judge Larry Hicks was hit and killed by a vehicle in midtown Reno on Wednesday afternoon. Hicks was hit about 2:15 p.m. as he crossed the intersection at South Virginia Street and California Avenue near the federal courthouse. The Reno Police Department say he was taken to the hospital where he died. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Impairment does not appear to be a factor.
