(Reno, NV) — Much of northern Nevada is facing an excessive heat warning through Friday. The warning applies to the greater Reno, Carson City and Minden areas, southern Lyon County, northern Washoe County, Western Nevada Basin Range, Fallon, Fernley, Hawthorne, Lovelock, Yerington and Smith Valley. Daytime highs are expected to hover at or near 105 degrees for the rest of the week. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of 102 degrees in Reno today.
