Update: The suspect in the shooting has been identified as 34-year-old Miguel Ignacio Garcia Martinez.

(Sun Valley, NV) — An investigation is underway after three homes burned and a person was shot in southeast Sun Valley. It’s unclear if the fire and shooting on Sunday are connected. The shooting happened at about the time of the first house fire, which left a home uninhabitable. The other two homes have minor damage and can likely be repaired. Authorities say the fire, which also burned about a quarter-acre of wildland, was intentionally set.
