Bear Fire: 1,391 Acres, 0% Contained

(Reno, NV) — The Bear Fire in Sierra County, California has burned nearly 14-hundred acres of land with no containment. The fire, which started amid a Red Flag Warning on Monday afternoon, is burning near Sierra Brooks on the east side of the Tahoe National Forest. It is in an area west of the North Valleys and south of Loyalton. The fast-moving fire has prompted mandatory evacuation orders for the west side of Sierra Brooks and portions of Antelope Valley. There are also evacuation warnings in place for zones surrounding the evacuation orders. Winds are expected to be calmer today.
