Washoe County’s Interim Registrar of Voters Takes Leave of Absence

(Reno, NV) — Washoe County’s interim registrar of voters Cari-Ann Burgess is taking a leave of absence just 40 days before the November 5th general election. A statement released by the county on Wednesday says Burgess was dealing with stress-related health issues. She will use the leave of absence to focus on “self-care.” It’s unclear when she will return. Until she gets back, all office functions will be led by deputy registrar of voters Andrew McDonald. Early voting starts in Washoe County on October 19th.
