The Sparks Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting in Sun Valley last night. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 5000 block of Thorn Berry Court just after midnight. Initial reports indicated that the suspect fled the area and a vehicle description was given to officers. Shortly after deputies arrived on scene, they located a vehicle that matched the description. The vehicle was occupied by the suspect, and during contact with the officers, a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy fired his weapon, striking the suspect. Officials say he was then was transported to Renown Medical Center. He is in critical, but stable condition.
