The Reno City Council gets a look today, at a proposed $1.2 billion redevelopment project. The West Second Street District, proposed by the Don J Clark Group, would include two non gaming hotels, residential, office and retail space, and 5000 parking spaces. It would be developed in an area bordered by the train trench, First street, Arlington and Washington Streets. The city is being asked to abandon two alleys a parking lot and a downtown street, and waive some future property tax revenue. But the city would not be asked to provide bond funding or guarantees for the development.
