Update 4:15 pm: Caughlin Parkway is closed at the Eagles Nest subdivision in Caughlin Ranch due to the brush fire threatening the area.

Firefighters are battling a 200 plus acre brush fire in SW Reno near Hawken and Pronghorn in the Caughlin Ranch area. At least five homes have been voluntarily evacuated as fire crews battle a fast moving fire that is hampered by high winds. The evacuated homes are in the Eagles Nest subdivision. Evacuees are being directed to Reno High School. A multi agency response is underway, no mandatory evacuations have been ordered, but residents are being advised to be prepared.
