Fire officials say the Little Valley Fire burning in Washoe Valley is still active. It’s holding at just under 3,500 acres. Twenty-two homes have been lost since the fire started Friday morning and containment was 55% as of last night. Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval declared a State of Emergency for Washoe County after the fire burned 22 homes and 17 outbuildings near Washoe Valley. The fire is burning west of Franktown Road, moving north toward Bowers Mansion and Joy Lake Road. Officials say the wet weather has been very helpful for firefighting efforts, and they hope to have residents back in their homes by Wednesday.
