The health report for Nevada’s 17 counties has been released. Each was judged on the health of their residents. The rankings are designed to help county leaders identify health problems, and seek solutions. The report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation highlighted Nevada counties in “Health Outcomes,” and “Health Factor.” “Outcomes,” takes into account things such as years of potential life lost before age 75, and adults reporting fair or poor health. While “Health Factor,” looks at clinical care, and social and economic factors. Washoe County ranked fourth in outcomes and third in factor. Douglas County took the top spot in the health factors ranking and third for health outcomes. Carson City finished 10th in factors and 12th in outcomes. Counties like Washoe know what they need to work on. Washoe County’s Health Officer Kevin Dick says the county needs to continue to get better at education attainment, poverty and housing availability. Learn more at http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/
