The City of Reno is celebrating the new blue Reno Arch by inviting the community to a 1980s-themed dance party, Monday the 25th. Be sure to come dressed in your best 1980s costume. Why the 1980s? Because the iconic Reno Arch on Virginia Street first debuted in August 1987. The Reno Arch Celebration will also include: Music from the Whitney Peak balcony provided by EPIK Weddings & Events, a countdown and lighting of the Arch at 8:30 p.m. The #BiggestLittleSelfie taken by Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve (after Arch lighting) at 2nd & Virginia at 8:45 p.m.
Fireworks by Lantis Fireworks and Lasers at 9 p.m. Road closures will begin in downtown Reno around 6 p.m. Be sure to arrive early to claim your spot under the Arch. The road closure will allow celebration attendees to take their own #BiggestLittleSelfie under the Arch.
