Trial Date Set For Man Accused of 40 Year Old Cold Case Murder

A trial date has been set for the man accused in a 40-year-old cold case murder.  73 year old Charles Sullivan, is charged with open murder in the death of 21 year old Julia Woodward, of San Rafael, Calif. Her body was found March 25, 1979, in Hungry Valley northwest of Sparks. His trial has been set for January 25th, 2021. A key evidentiary hearing will take place on June 15th to determine what evidence will be allowed in trial. Specifically, the unsolved murders of Jeannie Smith and Linda Taylor for which Sullivan is suspected, but not charged. Also they’ll look at a 2007 case from Nevada County, California in which Sullivan was accused of kidnapping a young hitchhiker.
