School Board Approves Contract For New Superintendent

The contract for Washoe County School District’s new superintendent Joe Ernst was approved unanimously by the board of trustees at their meeting Tuesday. Ernst was selected for the role on May 14. Two Arrested After Shooting in Carson City

Two are now under arrest after a double shooting Saturday night in Carson City. This happened on the city’s eastside around 10:20 off Woodside near Monte Rosa Drive. Crews were called to a fire on Longley Lane in Reno Friday morning at the Bristol Pointe Apartments. Dispatch responded to the call just after 3 a.m. Two apartments have been damaged by the fire, displacing eight people and four pets. No injuries have been reported.
